This is a little write up about our time in Koh Phi Phi, this place was hands down my favorite island in Thailand! It’s so small that there are no roads, no cars, and only a few bicycles. You are constantly being bombarded by beautiful nature whether it’s massive cliffs covered in moss jutting out of ocean or incredible pristine beaches and wild views.

So I’ve been traveling a lot lately and quite a bit has happened in the past month. I finished bar tending at my hostel in Thailand, Cate came to see me and we traveled all around Thailand for two weeks, I went to Malaysia and now am in Singapore waiting to leave for Jakarta and Indonesia in about two days. Currently scheming how to find a job in Bali and live there for a month or two.

So as of today, I’ve been living on the island for a little over three weeks although it feels at least twice as long. Over the past weeks, I have been adapting to island life quite well. It’s a slower pace of life, one filled with a sense of general malaise and to never rush because you really have nowhere to go. It’s a simpler and slowed version of life, one that makes all the days blend together.

I wanted to find work in Thailand to extend my stay. I arrived on Koh Phangan, looked at all of the hostels rated 8.5 and above on this website called hostelworld (there were about 20), and rented a scooter to knock on doors asking for a job. I spent six hours looking all around the island, got denied by eighteen hostels in a row and lucky number nineteen said yes. SO I am calling Shenanigans hostel home for the next month or so and it’s beautiful.
