I went home to Baltimore for winter break this year. I was welcomed with a film camera for Christmas and uncommonly cold weather. This resulted in lots of fires, road trips, and some pretty cool pictures. If you didn't know a roll of film has 36 shots in them these are some of the best memories from my time at home.
I really like using film because you only have so many shots, so you are more picky with what you chose to capture. I feel that these pictures mean more to me because they are not just photographs but moments frozen in time. The pictures may not always come out how you want, but you get what you get. It's a great creative tool and it's a great conduit for so many life lessons. I wont get preachy, but I really think photography and especially film photograhy can teach you a lot about yourself by what you choose to capture, the process of taking the photos, and the process of developing them.
