Asia Trip: Day 51 - Koh Samui (3/6/2019)
Daily Highlights:
After my twelve hour overnight bus ride, where I got no sleep, we exited the bus at 6am and waited at a wharf for two hours until 8am
Then we took a one hour bus ride
Then took a one hour water taxi
Arrived on Koh Samui!
IT’S SO DEVELOPED
It didn’t feel like an island, just a city plopped into the middle of an ocean
Also the portions here are so small even by Thai standards
EVERYTHING SO EXPENSIVE
After I arrived on the island, I took a one hour tuk tuk ride to a random area of town (I didn’t book anything and just wanted to wing it)
The first hostel I saw didn’t have any availability, so I just booked one down the road
The new hostel had a weird vibe
Watched Brooklyn 99
So fucking funny
These are the tuk tuk’s that bring you all around the island. My biggest fear is the rear cabs will fall off.
Asia Trip: Day 52 - Koh Samui (3/7/2019)
Daily Highlights:
Jumped rope in the am and felt awesome
Rented a scooter
Rode around the island for six hours
Burnt the shit out of my thighs, forearms, the backs of my hands and my neck
Got an amazing latte at a quaint little island coffee shop
Really starting to be a connoisseur of 7-11 toasties in Thailand
These are little sandwiches that only cost about a dollar and they are toasted in a panini press and are delicious:
Spinach and croissant one is delicious!
Ham and cheese croissant blows
Hard to have a good microwaved croissant. If they don’t toast it, I don’t get it.
Watched more Brooklyn 99 because I am burned to shit and tended to my burns
Went out for the sunset, which was spectacular
Also moving to another island tomorrow to try to find a place to work and live
Self portrait after two months of traveling and being a bum.
The coolest little coffee shop on the island.
An actual latte in Thailand.
This is a little shrine to the Thai king. Makes him look like a Thai James Bond/ Most Interesting Man in the World.
Some snaps from wandering to the pier for sunset.
