Just got a third roll of quarantine film back. The past couple weeks have been spent relaxing outside as much as possible, day trips along the coast, and just getting lost zigzagging in the city. These are some scenes from living life a little more slowly and six feet apart.

So when it is not the Full Moon week here in Koh Phangan, the island is sort of a ghost town which is incredible in one way, but my shifts are very uneventful. So I’ve always wanted to learn to be able to do really cool shit in Photoshop and during my shifts at the hostel I’ve been teaching myself to do double exposures and other cool shit.
After watching a plethora of YouTube videos and rummaging through tons of Adobe tutorials this is what I have got so far. I have loved messing around in Photoshop, it’s pretty daunting at first and I think it’s like learning a new language. It’s intimidating and overwhelming at first, you need to learn the basics and then you can make jazz. Or make sentences. Or create cool things. Anyways here is what I have got so far.

I got this roll of film developed on April 9th, 2018. It is filled with moments from the past few months of the year.
Weekly Update #3 - Hiking Half Dome in Yosemite
Last weekend I did a trip to Yosemite with one of my friends named Connor. We packed up and drove out at around 5am on Friday morning, dreary eyed and ready to make the long drive to Yosemite. We hit the road and ran into a little bit of traffic, but the overall drive was pretty smooth. We hit every kind of weather on this initial trip, we went from darkness and fog to sunrise and clear skies. I knew the trip was off to a favorable start when I checked my phone to see that we had won the daily lottery to climb up the cables at Half Dome, which I've always wanted to do, its pretty rad.
We drove straight through the morning until we finally started to hit the mountains and caught glimpses of the Sierra's. We started to drink up the crisp mountain air and take in all the vast landscapes. We kept on driving right into the Yosemite gates, got our weekly pass and made our way into the valley floor and started to wander, hike and poke around the valley.
After a long day of hiking around the valley floor, we made our way back to our AirBnb campsite located about an hour outside of the park. We drove into camp and was greeted by an elderly man, missing a few screws and teeth (presumably from meth), but very nice none the less. We got settled, had a very large meal and prepared for the grueling hike the next day.
Saturday morning creeps up very sharply at 5 am for the start of our day. We eat a hearty breakfast and get ready for our day ahead. We are getting ready to do the Half Dome Trail which is about 17 miles round trip, gaining 4,800 feet of elevation and were carrying around a 30-40 pound pack.
Weekly Update #1
So I'm trying to write at least blog post a week. I'll be documenting any trips that I have done, that I'm currently on or about to go on. If I have no trips in the works then you'll see what I've been up to in SF. I'll also periodically be putting up things that I think are super cool and get me stoked, hopefully they will get whoever is reading stoked as well.
This week was a personal creative breakthrough for me. I got a new camera, meet a lot of really interesting people at a meetup in downtown SF and have been honing my photo editing abilities. All of these events reignited a bit of my creative side. For the longest time, I felt I was in a bit of a creative rut. I wasn't sure what to post on here, what I wanted to say or what to photograph. Right now, I'm thinking of this as a place for friends and family to stay tuned for what I am up to and where I have been. I'm stoked to start sharing with everyone what I've been up to, what I've been creating and what gets me stoked.
Props if you made this far and stay tuned for more!
