I just got my first roll of film developed in quarantine. I have been staying sane by running all over Golden Gate Park, reading mountains of books, and being one of the few people still wandering around the city. These are some scenes from living life a little slower and staying six feet apart.

So when it is not the Full Moon week here in Koh Phangan, the island is sort of a ghost town which is incredible in one way, but my shifts are very uneventful. So I’ve always wanted to learn to be able to do really cool shit in Photoshop and during my shifts at the hostel I’ve been teaching myself to do double exposures and other cool shit.
After watching a plethora of YouTube videos and rummaging through tons of Adobe tutorials this is what I have got so far. I have loved messing around in Photoshop, it’s pretty daunting at first and I think it’s like learning a new language. It’s intimidating and overwhelming at first, you need to learn the basics and then you can make jazz. Or make sentences. Or create cool things. Anyways here is what I have got so far.

2018.09.19 - Wandering the Japanese Tea Gardens
I decided to wander over to the Japanese Tea Gardens in Golden Gate Park, which in my humble opinion is one of the coolest places in the entire city. What is equally awesome is that on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays there is free entry before 10 am. I ventured over at around 9:15 am and had the whole place practically to myself. You make your entrance under this giant entry way and are immediately immersed in what feels like Japan. You enter the gardens are confronted by a multitude of different pathways to wander through the gardens each with different views and perspectives on all of the different large structures in the gardens. There are all the elements of nature which are thoughtfully interspersed with traditional structures throughout the gardens.
As I made my way through, I slowly relaxed into a very peaceful state of mind. I was hearing gently running water in the background, the wind lightly moving through the trees and the joyful sound of birds as they awake in the morning. I was feeling good and wanted to get some tea. Then I went and got some tea, dreams can come true.
2018.07.29 - Hanging Around the Haight
I went around my neighborhood in NoPa today and wandered around though Haight as well. There are so many iconic houses, so much lush greenery and unique architecture sprinkled all throughout this area. I brought along my camera, plug in my headphones and wandered aimlessly throughout the streets and neighborhoods. These are some of what I came across on my walk.
Lately I've been feeling a burst of creativity, I think it's because I am finally getting normal sleep and not working 12-15 hour days ad nauseam. I've been thinking more of how creative children are and how I think we lose that creativity as we get older and integrate into society. We are told what is possible, what an adult should be and what you should be doing. As we age, we get put into boxes and put ourselves into certain molds, which is potentially unhealthy and self damaging. I think the most creative we are is when were a seven or eight year old kid and if you don't foster that creativity and imagination, you lose it every year you get older.
